On the festival of makar sankranti today, about 1.75 crore devotees took the holy bath known as the "Amrit Snan" at the Triveni Sangam, a revered confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and ethereal Saraswati rivers. Mahakumbh 2025 is being hosted in Prayagraj.
 
Here are some lodging choices for those who still intend to attend the event, which is hailed as the biggest gathering on Earth, over the next six weeks.
 
Prayagraj provides pilgrims with a variety of lodging choices, ranging from luxurious tents that cost over ₹1 lakh per night to hotels in the city that cost approximately ₹20,000 per night to the reasonably priced irctc tent city, which has nightly rates starting at ₹1,500.


At its Sangam Nivas Prayagraj campground, The Ultimate Travelling Camp (TUTC), a company that specializes in glitzy camping or luxury glamping, has erected over 40 opulent tents. They have set up the facilities during the Mahakumbh mela three times now. These tents have a restaurant on-site, heating, hot and cold water, and private restrooms.
 

At this campground, lodging costs range from ₹70,000 to ₹1 lakh per night. Rajnish Rai, the chief operating officer of The Ultimate Travelling Camp (TUTC) and a founding member of Ultra Resorts and Hotels Pvt Ltd, which currently runs the TUTC brand, told india Herald, "We cater to a selective group of people that includes industrialists, bollywood stars, HNIs, CEOs, and NRIs."
 

The opulent tents are situated on three acres of land inside an ashram. Executive and luxury tents are the two varieties available, and they range in size from 400 to 500 square feet. In addition to offering Satvik cuisine, the campground also accommodates pilgrims who are vegan or lactose intolerant," he stated.
 
The establishment provides boat services to transport visitors to the Sangam, as well as specialized tour and excursion services. It has an agreement with the closest multispecialty hospital and a doctor-on-call service. He said that airport pickup and drop-off services are also covered.

The Mahakumbh Gram Tent City, which lies 3.5 kilometers from the Triveni Sangam, was established by the indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Tents are available for ₹18,000 to ₹20,000 per night as part of the lodging option. These include of three meals, Wi-Fi, adjacent bathrooms, and air conditioning.
 
Additionally, a tent city with around 2,000 cottage-style tents has been established by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC). Tents with shared eating and bathroom facilities cost ₹1,500 per night, while luxurious alternatives cost ₹35,000 per night.


Kumbh mela packages, including the three-night and four-day Soulful Kumbh in Prayagraj package, start at ₹28,695 per person on select online travel agencies like MakeMyTrip. This includes a guided tour of the Kumbh mela, a visit to Triveni Sangam and Khusro Bagh, a 4-star hotel stay, and airport pickup and drop-off. For ₹35,097 per person, another package called Splendid Kumbh and Shahi Snan includes a 4-star hotel, round-trip airfare, airport transfers, and a few meals.
 
According to travel portals, the WelcomHeritage Badi Kothi hotel provides rooms starting at ₹33,983 per night, including breakfast, for individuals who choose to stay there.
 

Premier rooms at The legend Hotel are available from january 17 to january 20 for ₹22,163 including taxes, according to the Expedia website. Rooms at Triveni Sangam Hotels and Resorts start at ₹16,200 per night, Hotel ajay International offers rooms starting at ₹21000 per night, while Hotel Kanha shyam offers accommodations starting at about ₹17000 per night.
