Will rohit sharma go to pakistan for the opening ceremony..!?

There is an expectation that rohit sharma will participate in the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan. The ICC Champions Trophy series (Feb. 19-March 9) is to be held in Pakistan. The world's 'top-8' teams, including india, australia and South Africa, are participating. india refused to go to pakistan due to security reasons. Following this, only the matches involving the indian team were shifted to Dubai. In the league round, the indian team will face bangladesh (Feb. 20), pakistan (Feb. 23), and New Zealand. All the matches will be played in Dubai.

Pakistan and new zealand will face each other in the first match (Feb. 19) at the National Stadium in Karachi. Before this, the pakistan cricket Board (PCB) has planned to hold the opening ceremony on Feb. 16 or 17. It intends to hold the usual 'photo shoot' with the participation of the captains of the 8 teams.
A PCB official said, ''The world cup was held in pakistan in 1996. After 29 years, the big ICC series, the Champions Trophy, is going to be held.To celebrate this, we have organized a 'mega' opening ceremony on Feb. 16 or 17. We have issued 'visas' to 3 indian executives who were part of the ICC team that recently visited Pakistan. Similarly, we have issued 'visas' to captains, players, and executives of 8 teams, including India. We expect rohit sharma or some player and executive to participate on behalf of India. As per ICC rules, a 'photo-shoot' will be held where the captains appear with the trophy,'' he said.

It is difficult to get permission from the central government for indian players to go to Pakistan. Regarding this, a Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) official said, "The indian team for the Champions Trophy has not been selected yet. rohit sharma is not likely to go to pakistan now. A final decision in this regard will be taken after the indian team is announced."
