Due to the forecast of "dangerous" cold temperatures in the capital, President-elect donald trump said on friday that his inauguration will take place indoors at the US Capitol rather than outside.

January 20 is when trump will take office.

Trump stated in his Truth Social post that the rotunda of the US Capitol will host his inaugural speech and subsequent addresses. In addition, he stated that he did not want to see any injuries during the cold oath-taking ceremony. Temperatures in Washington, DC, might drop to extreme record lows due to the wind chill factor, according to the forecast. The nation is experiencing an Arctic blast. He declared, "I don't want to see people in any kind of harm or injury."

A very cold Arctic is predicted to move over southern canada this weekend and then invade the US from the north by saturday morning, coinciding with Trump's planned swearing ceremony. CNN claimed that it would then quickly spread into sections of the South and east on Sunday, as well as most of the West and Central united states through Saturday.

Extremely cold temperatures are predicted for monday, the day of the inauguration, with lows of minus 12 degrees Celsius and highs of minus 5 degrees Celsius.

According to trump, the last time an inaugural was moved indoors because of the bitter weather was when former President Ronald Reagan was sworn in for the second time in 1985.

"It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of law enforcement, first responders, police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!)," he said.

"Therefore, I have ordered the inauguration address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the US Capitol rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather. The various dignitaries and guests will be brought to the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large tv audience!" he added.

The 78-year-old Republican leader said that the inauguration address would be streamed live from capital One Arena. The US President-elect also stated that all other activities, including the victory Rally and three inaugural balls, will take place in the capital One Arena on monday at 3 p.m. (local time).

With a capacity of 20,000, the capital One Arena is a sports arena located in downtown Washington, DC.
