Following the social media leak of private information on Saif ali Khan's health insurance claim, which revealed that the bollywood star had applied to a claim of Rs 35.95 lakh, a physician said that no health insurer would ever approve such a large sum for the average person.

A violent event occurred when an assailant entered Saif ali Khan's home in Bandra West, Mumbai, and repeatedly stabbed him. His seven-year-old son, Taimur, took him to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.

Dr. prashant Mishra, a Mumbai-based heart surgeon, emphasized middle-class policyholders' difficulties and stated that health insurer Niva Bhupa would never allow the average person to get more than Rs 5 lakh for such treatments. In a post on X (formally Twitter), he wrote: "For small hospitals and common man, Niva Bupa will not sanction more than Rs 5 lakh for such treatment. All 5-star hospitals are charging exorbitant fees and mediclaim companies are paying also. result - premiums are rising and the middle class is suffering."

According to the mediclaim form filed for the bollywood actor's medical care, a claim of Rs 35.95 lakh has been made, of which the insurance company has already approved Rs 25 lakh.

CNN-News18 could not independently confirm that the mediclaim circulating on social media was legitimate.

The Niva Bupa health Insurance company, however, verified the claims and stated: "We have approved an initial amount to start the treatment after a cashless pre-authorization request was sent to us upon his hospitalization."
