'Gwadar airport donated', Shahbaz was celebrating!

After the inauguration in october 2024, a pakistan international airlines plane landed at this new airport on monday (January 20). This was the first flight to land at this newly built international airport. Pakistan's prime minister Shahbaz Sharif had described this airport as a symbol of friendship with China. At the same time, China's state-run newspaper Global Times has exposed Pakistan's claim.

Global Times called Gwadar airport a 'donation from China'

China's state-run newspaper Global Times said in a post on social media platform X, "This Gwadar airport, built at a cost of $230 million, is a 'donation' from china to Pakistan." It further said, "This airport has been officially started from Monday. Its first flight was PIA503 pakistan international airlines, which came from Karachi." At the same time, Global Times quoted Pak PM Shahbaz Sharif as saying, "The government and people of pakistan are grateful to the Chinese government for building this international level airport." China's state news agency Xinhua said, "Pakistan's prime minister Shahbaz Sharif said on monday (January 20) that the new Gwadar airport built in the country's balochistan province is a great example of strong friendship between china and Pakistan." 

China surrounded on social media over Gwadar airport Global Times has been criticized a lot on social media platform X for calling Gwadar airport a donation from China. social media users are calling it China's debt trap. A user Riaz Baloj said, "Gwadar airport is a plan to harass CPEC. This airport has been built under Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is built with Chinese money." It is noteworthy that former PM imran khan laid the foundation stone for the construction of this airport in Pakistan's balochistan province in march 2019. Which was inaugurated by PM Shahbaz Sharif in october 2024.
