In a startling occurrence, a man killed his wife, dismembered her, cooked her body parts in a pressure cooker, and discarded them in different locations inside the boundaries of the Meerpet police station.

The january 16 incident was made public on january 18 after Gurumurthy, who lives in Dandupalli village in Toofanpeta, which is within the borders of Meerpet municipality, complained to the Meerpet police station with his in-laws that his wife, Venkata Madhavi, had been missing since january 16 following a fight with him.

When the authorities learned that the couple had a history of frequent arguments before to her disappearance, they became suspicious. After being questioned, Gurumurthy admitted his guilt. But according to sources, he has not been providing consistent explanations regarding how he killed his wife and where he disposed of her body parts.

He is alleged to have admitted to the police that he disposed of the body parts in several locations, including Jillelaguda Cheruvu.

After voluntarily leaving the army, Gurumurthy has been employed by the DRDO in Kanchanbagh as a security guard under contract. Thirteen years ago, he married Venkata Madhavi, with whom he had two children.
