A few days ago, the much awaited teaser for ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi was shown, announcing that the film would be released on february 6th. The promo for Vidaamuyarchi initially said that it will be released on Pongal. A number of movies changed their release dates in response to this revelation. However, it was disclosed that the film's release had been delayed just a few days before to Pongal.

Audiences and industry insiders criticized lyca productions for this abrupt adjustment, accusing them of inadequate planning. A number of medium-budget movies had their release dates thrown off, and several had to be pre-released to avoid conflict. The pattern now seems to be repeating itself with the most recent announcement of Vidaamuyarchi's february 6th release. Two more films' release dates have been affected by this unforeseen decision.

Originally scheduled for february 7th, Dhanush's directing project Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam has been rescheduled for february 21st. Due to the overlapping release, pradeep Ranganathan's Dragon, which is slated for february 13th, also has issues with screen allocations. lyca productions has come under fire from trade experts for their lack of preparation and coordination, highlighting the need for production companies who work on high-profile projects to appropriately declare release dates. Abrupt adjustments show a lack of consideration for the scheduling dynamics of the whole business and interfere with the smooth release of other films, especially medium-budget ones.
