All eyes are on whether the aam aadmi party (AAP) will win a third straight term or whether the congress or bharatiya janata party (BJP) will win as delhi prepares for its forthcoming elections on february 5 and results are expected on february 8.

The possible results and voter preferences have been partially clarified by recent pre-election polls and forecasts.

According to surveys, the AAP has a positive slant and is strongly supported among Dalit and female voters. For example, according to the C-Voter study, the AAP may win more than 51% of the vote and therefore control the elections.

It's interesting to note that a significant portion of voters are hesitant to see a shift in government, according to this study, which had around 3,200 respondents. The AAP's popularity among women was emphasized by Yashwant Deshmukh, founder of the polling firm C-Voter, who said, "80 out of 100 women who voted for the AAP in the 2020 assembly polls may still choose the party this time." He said that the majority of female voters who formerly favored the congress are now more inclined to embrace the AAP.

The voting preferences of the Dalit population were the subject of a second study carried out by the National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organizations (NACDAOR). According to this study, which had over 6,000 respondents, 44% of Dalit voters supported the AAP, while the bjp held 28 seats, the congress held 7, and the AAP held 35 seats. Even though the AAP and congress run separately in state elections, this shows the community's wider support for the india bloc, of which both parties are members.

The AAP was first predicted to win a majority by the Phalodi Satta Bazar, which is renowned for its election forecasts. It has now revised its prediction, predicting that the AAP would win between 39 and 41 seats, indicating a little uptick in support for the ruling party. The bjp is predicted to fall short of the majority threshold with 29 to 31 seats. Notably, the congress was not predicted by the Satta Bazar.

Looking back, the AAP has won 67 seats in 2015 and 62 seats in 2020, demonstrating its resounding victory in the last two delhi elections. By building on its history of implementing important welfare programs, the party hopes to extend its winning run. In his praise of the AAP's performance, Deshmukh said, "The AAP has a good track record on delivering freebies in Delhi."
