As a sankranti treat, bobby Kolli's film Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Nandamuri balakrishna, was released on january 12. Despite having mediocre word-of-mouth, the movie had a remarkable debut. balakrishna is well-known for his action-packed parts that include fierce battle scenes and bucolic settings, therefore viewers were taken aback by his novel depiction in Daaku Maharaaj.

His character was depicted in a fashionable way in the first half, but in the second half, he was shown as an educated guy who subsequently becomes a hero, which brought about a welcome change in the plot. After a strong first week, the movie has cooled down significantly and is currently nearing the end of its run in theaters. The OTT release is now highly anticipated by many fans who were unable to enjoy the big-screen experience.

Daaku Maharaaj is reportedly scheduled to debut on Netflix on february 9 and will be available for viewing. Only four weeks have passed since its theatrical debut, and a deal has been reached to stream it on Netflix during this brief period.

Many moviegoers question why people would pay hundreds of rupees to see a major film in cinemas when it was only available on OTT four weeks after its theatrical debut. If this trend keeps up, other audiences—aside from die-hard fans—will suddenly opt to see even big-star movies on OTT. However, the producer may counter that because the movie has already been seen in theaters, it would be better to put it on OTT as soon as possible in order to increase revenue from OTT arrangements. But lately, an HD version was released on BitTorrent, which might seriously hurt OTT viewing.
