After Wednesday's 'Mauni Amavasya' stampede, which left 30 people dead and 60 injured, the maha Kumbh will be a vehicle-free zone and all 'VVIP' credentials will be canceled until february 4. At a special meeting, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath provided instructions to the Prayagraj Kumbh mela administration. The mela grounds will thereafter undergo some significant renovations from thursday until february 4.
All you need to know is this:
No-vehicle Zone:
From thursday until february 4, the whole fair area is designated as a no-vehicle zone. 'VVIP' bath and escort car convoys are prohibited. The only vehicles permitted within will be two-wheelers, ambulances, and vehicles from the fire department and municipalities. The entry of four-wheelers from Prayagraj's neighboring districts has also been prohibited.
Changes to the Bath Route and Holding Areas to Prevent Crowding:
Bath pathways will now be one-way as the rush happened close to the Sangam, where people had congregated to take the sacred plunge. As a result, those taking a bath won't run into each other when returning. 'Amrit Snan' will take place on february 3, another auspicious day, during Basant Panchami, chief minister Yogi Adityanath informed authorities. In light of Basant Panchami, the chief secretary and DGP should examine the arrangements, paying close attention to all security and convenience-related issues. In order to prevent congestion in the mela grounds, he said, holding zones have been established in border regions.
"Food and water should be provided for everyone wherever they are halted. There should be no problems with food or water for any devotee. "No holding area should have its electricity supply interrupted," he stated.
Train and bus Operations Will Be Monitored:
According to Adityanath, many devotees who are present at all Prayagraj train stations are going home after bathing at the Kumbh Mela. district authorities, he added, must make sure that everyone gets to their destination securely. "We are accountable for this. Contacting and coordinating with the railways is necessary to guarantee the trains' continuing operation. "The transport corporation should also deploy more buses," he stated.
Easy Traffic Control:
According to the chief minister, the area surrounding the Kumbh mela has to have effective traffic control. "Avoid stopping people needlessly or allowing crowd pressure to build up anywhere. If there are street sellers, they should be sent to empty spaces and there shouldn't be any traffic congestion. "The flow of traffic should be smooth," he stated. Important roads like Ayodhya-Prayagraj, Kanpur-Prayagraj, Fatehpur-Prayagraj, Lucknow-Pratapgarh-Prayagraj, and Varanasi-Prayagraj shouldn't have their traffic impeded, he continued.
Increased Protection:
Ashish Goyal, the former Prayagraj divisional commissioner who managed the 2019 Kumbh, and another officer are being sent to help with arrangements at the mela grounds, according to the chief minister, who has doubled the administrative staff at the Kumbh mela. In addition, five special secretary-level officials would accompany them and stay in Prayagraj till february 12. Additionally, SP-rank police officers will be sent out. For devotion and darshan, thousands of devotees are traveling to varanasi and ayodhya in addition to maha Kumbh.
