Another fire Reported In Prayagraj's maha Kumbh Day After Stampede Killed 30

The fire was reported in Sector-22 of the maha Kumbh district near Chatnag Ghat. The devotees are reported safe and evacuated from the site of the fire. 


A fire broke out in the tents near the Sangam ghat in Prayagraj's maha Kumbh on Thursday. The fire was reported in the Nageshwar Pandal of Sector-22 in the Jhunsi area of the maha Kumbh district near Chatnag Ghat.


According to the initial reports, no casualties have been reported and the devotees have been safely evacuatedThe fire broke out at around 1:45 pm at at Nageshwar Pandal area of the maha Kumbh and fire brigades were immediately rushed to the spot. The flames emanating from the fire were reportedly visible from a distance and caused damage worth lakhs of rupees as several tents were reduced to ashes.

The incident comes a day after 30 people died and 60 others were injured in a stampede in the early hours of the wednesday in maha Kumbh. The tragedy occurred between 1 am and 2 am on wednesday, when a huge crowd broke through barriers and trampled over devotees who had been waiting overnight at the ghats to take a holy dip on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, one of the most auspicious days of the Hindu calendar.
