Social media users are responding to the BBC news report on the maha Kumbh stampede with laughing emojis in a post that has gone viral.
 
The stampede at Sangam Ghat in Prayagraj, which started at 1.30 am on Tuesday, claimed the lives of 35–40 individuals. Over 70 persons have been hurt. The number of fatalities is probably going to rise. Twenty bodies have reportedly been turned over to the family by the police. The government hasn't confirmed anything yet, though. In the meantime, members of a certain community have expressed joy at this mishap.

At the Sangam shore, NSG commandos have taken control and prevented civilians from entering. Officers have been stationed in each of the districts surrounding Prayagraj to deter visitors.
