According to the idea, match payments may be doubled, enabling domestic players who participate in the whole Ranji season to make between INR 75 lakh and INR 1 crore yearly. A senior player may get around INR 25 lakh under the current pay system if their side makes it to the final, while other players earn between INR 17 lakh and INR 22 lakh.
 
Aakash Chopra, a commentator, discussed local players' salaries in detail. "I'm not sure how much they make now, but in the past, players would make INR 10,000 a day; before that, it was even lower. In 1997, I received INR 1,700 as my first pay through the Ranji Trophy. Following that, it began to gradually increase significantly," Chopra stated on the raj Shamani show.
