Since its january 14 release, venkatesh Daggubati's Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has been a box office hit. However, the creators are currently negotiating with ZEE5 to delay the streaming release after Sankranthiki Vasthunam made an astounding Rs 180 crores in 14 days and surpassed Rs 210 crores worldwide. The wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital rights to the movie were reportedly purchased by ZEE5 for Rs 30 crore, with an initial OTT release scheduled for the second week of february 2025. It appears that the movie won't be released until march 7.

Although ZEE5 has purchased the OTT rights to Sankranthiki Vasthunam, the platform lacks the mainstream appeal and extensive reach of its main rivals, such as Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar. The directors believe it would be wiser to utilize Sankranthiki Vasthunnam's theatrical run to the fullest before its OTT debut because it may not receive the audience figures it merits.
