External Affairs minister Dr. S. jaishankar criticized the aam aadmi party (AAP)-led delhi government on saturday as the campaign for the delhi assembly elections grew more intense. He said he is embarrassed to travel overseas and conceal the fact that the people in the nation's capital need basic services.

Jaishankar made a subtle jab at the delhi administration while campaigning for the bharatiya janata party (BJP) in the forthcoming assembly elections in delhi, stating that he feels embarrassed to inform people that delhi residents lack access to housing, cylinders, and piped water when he travels abroad.

"…Whenever I visit foreign countries, I hide one thing from the world. I feel ashamed to go abroad and say that people living in the national capital do not get houses, do not get cylinders, or piped water under Jal jeevan Mission and do not get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat…" jaishankar said while interacting with the South indian community in the national capital.

He attacked the AAP administration, claiming that delhi has been left behind during Arvind Kejriwal's ten years in power.

"It is regrettable that delhi has lagged behind in the past ten years. Delhi's citizens are denied their rights to gas, power, water, cylinders, medical care, etc.On february 5th, you will also believe that this administration ought to be replaced if it fails to grant you your rights," he remarked.

He called on young people to make the "right choice" earlier this week while pointing out the national capital's inadequate water and transportation systems.

Since 2015, the AAP has ruled delhi, and the bjp has worked tirelessly to overthrow its administration.

During a "Youth for Viksit Bharat" event at delhi University's Hansraj College, jaishankar emphasized the significance of delhi in achieving the goal of a prosperous India.

"There can be no 'Viksit Bharat' without youth. delhi bears a unique role as the nation's capital. When foreigners come to delhi, what they see here shapes their perception of India," jaishankar had stated.

"The core of 'Viksit Bharat' is Viksit Delhi. It ought to serve as a template for the nation and abroad," he continued. jaishankar has also voiced worries over the city's municipal problems.

"I have witnessed a lot of problems during the past five years. "Unauthorized colonies lack regular water supplies and roads," he stated.
