Ram Charan's much awaited movie Game Changer was launched as a sankranti treat following the worldwide success of RRR. The movie underperformed at the box office and was rejected outright from the first showing, even though it had a big release. Game Changer, Shankar's 50th film, was produced by dil raju and had a massive budget of almost ₹450 crore. However, dil raju suffered significant financial losses as a result of the film's terrible reception.

Social media users publicly ridiculed the movie, causing it to receive harsh criticism. When filmmaker shankar himself voiced his displeasure with the film's production, the situation deteriorated. He said in a statement that he was unable to utilize the five hours of video he had filmed, which added to the unfavorable rumors about the film.

According to sources, Game Changer's failure was caused by a number of factors, including the narrative presented by filmmaker karthik Subbaraj. According to insider information, shankar did not successfully apply Karthik's script. Appanna, played by ram Charan, served as the film's central character and the basis for the plot of Game Changer. The story's central theme is the tribal song that is played throughout the flashback.

However, shankar decided to cut it down to a mere fifteen minutes and replace it with an unrelated vengeance song. He just squandered the potential of karthik Subbaraj's plot, which was entirely marginalized and focused on doing politics without money. karthik Subbaraj also gained a negative reputation as a result of Shankar's inadequate handling of the matter.
