Pooja Hegde, an actress who enjoys watching Vijay on television, says she supports his decision even if she is saddened by the tamil superstar's decision to enter politics.

In "Jana Nayakan," which is largely regarded as Hegde's final movie before he leaves the film industry to pursue a career in politics full-time, he reconnects with Vijay. They previously costarred in "Beast," directed by Nelson Dilipkumar (2022). The movie's title was announced last week by the famous actor, who founded his party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam last year.

"As someone who loves to watch him on screen, I'm very sad," Hegde told PTI when asked about her feelings about collaborating with Vijay on his 69th and maybe final movie. I do, however, support his journey. I'm cheering him on. Thus, greater strength to him. In her most recent film, "Deva," Hegde co-stars with shahid Kapoor.

In the film directed by Rosshan Andrews and released on Friday, the actor portrays Diya, an investigative journalist.

According to Hegde, diya is a fearless lady who challenges the title character Deva, a smart but rebellious police officer, and even doesn't hesitate to speak out.

Sometimes asking inappropriate questions might be interpreted incorrectly. But they play such an important role. It takes a lot of courage. I used such investigative journalistic attributes in my scenes.

Particularly in hindi movies, I don't believe anyone has ever seen me like that. I thought this was the ideal movie for me after hearing the screenplay. You're constantly investigating and searching for new personalities to play as artists," she continued.

Hegde claimed that she was inspired by the 2016 Oscar-winning movie "Spotlight" for her character, even though she was unable to engage with actual investigative journalists because they essentially operate "in the shadows."
