Bollywood appears to still be in a state of lethargy. The recently released popular action entertainment Deva, starring shahid kapoor and pooja hegde, has great expectations from the hindi film industry. But the movie, which was released all around the world, has really let the trade down.

Early projections indicate that on its first day, deva brought in around Rs 4.65 crore nett nationwide. These figures were achieved by the movie from over 12,000 showings at an incredibly low occupancy rate of only 8%. Although fans enjoyed Shahid's performance, the lack of a superhit audio CD and poor writing appear to have spoiled the fun. In the foreign market, the scenario is much the same.

According to the website, the movie earned about ₹6.8 crore net on its first Sunday, bringing its total earnings in india to ₹18.7 crore net. The movie made ₹5.5 crore net on its first day of release, but on saturday it made ₹6.4 crore, a 16.36% increase. The occupancy rates for the morning, afternoon, and evening shows were 6.34%, 16.32%, and 22.08%, respectively. It's unclear how much money it will make in its first week, but the openings are weak in comparison to Shahid's last movie, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
