Reforms in this labor law have been underway since 2020.

In a news release published by gulf news in this regard, according to the new rule, female employees are given 12 weeks of maternity leave. Earlier, 10 weeks of maternity leave were given. Now, an additional 2 weeks of maternity leave are being given. This will allow women to spend more time with their children. Similarly, migrant workers working in saudi arabia will be given 5 days of paid leave if their husband or wife dies. Similarly, 5 days of paid leave will be given for marriage. If you want to quit your job because you don't like the job, you have to serve 30 days of notice. On the other hand, if you are fired from the company, you have to serve 60 days of notice.
 
Similarly, when working on government holidays and Ramadan holidays, it is considered 'overtime' work. Due to this, you have to get extra pay. Similarly, the Trial Period has been increased to 180 days. It has also been stated that there should be no discrimination on the grounds of race, color, gender, disability, social status, etc. Such rules will be of great benefit to migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. It is said that indian migrant women and men will especially benefit. However, we should not forget one thing. There are already laws in force for workers in Saudi Arabia. According to that law, there are only 10 hours of work per day. But no one follows this law. Domestic workers in particular are forced to work up to 18 hours a day. As a result, even though the Saudi government has brought laws in favor of workers, no one is following them properly. Therefore, the Saudi government should take steps to ensure that this new law is followed by everyone. Only then will the benefits of the law be available to migrant workers.
