Big-budget movie releases used to be deliberately scheduled during important festival seasons, such as Sankranthi, Summer, and Dussehra, when crowds were most likely to attend. Big stars and expensive films were thought to shine best during these seasons. In recent years, though, things appear to have altered. The promise of the whole summer season in 2024 was squandered by the lack of major releases. The season ended up being a tremendous disaster.

Many were anticipating big releases from their favorite celebrities in the summer of 2025. The raja Saab, starring prabhas and Maruthi, was slated to open the season with a lavish summer release. Fans and the industry are waiting for a reliable update, though, as the movie's debut has been postponed several times.

In a similar vein, hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Pawan Kalyan, which was anticipated to be a major summer release, has also been postponed. Although a march or april release date was discussed, it doesn't appear realistic that the movie would be in theaters in time for the summer. Currently, Vishwambhara appears to be the sole major summer movie, but given the negative reaction to the preview, its prospects are also questionable.

While lesser films like Hit 3, Kannappa, Jack, Robinhood, and mass Jathara are scheduled to be released, the industry is experiencing a void due to the large films' postponement. The absence of big actors during this pivotal season is also being felt. For the major heroes, it's a lost chance since their movies have always had the potential to dominate the box office and the screen over the summer.

It's evident that the true magic occurs when a big-budget, star-driven movie takes center stage, even though lesser films may still find their audience. The issue still stands: who will benefit the most from this summer, and will the season's total box office receipts be impacted by the major releases' absence?
