Fans criticized actress pooja hegde for referring to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as a tamil film. Hegde and allu arjun costarred in the telugu movie. Fans voiced their disgust shortly after the actor's remarks from an interview went viral. "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was not a pan-Indian film; it is a tamil film. However, it was viewed in Hindi. Therefore, if the work is good, people will see it," the actor stated in an interview with ANI about her most recent film, Deva.
 
Fans of allu arjun reacted angrily and attacked the actor as soon as a video of Pooja's interview appeared on social media.
 
One X user commented, "KGF is a telugu movie," while another said, "Even though it was a slip of the tongue, it was such a grave mistake to be done by a South indian herself; that too her own project (sic)." The film bahubali is in Malayalam. rrr is a tamil film. pushpa 2 is a kannada film. In response, a third person said, "More than three pegs has a problem (sic)."
 

Pooja most recently starred with shahid kapoor in the film Deva, which was directed by Rosshan Andrews and funded by Zed Studios and siddharth Roy Kapur. The film was released in theaters on january 31. In addition to Deva, pooja hegde is working on Retro, which will have Suriya in the lead role.
