During his wednesday visit to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, for the Mahakumbh Mela, prime minister Narendra Modi took a sacred plunge in the Triveni Sangam. The prime minister stood in the river and offered prayers while holding 'rudraksha' beads and reciting mantras.
 
“Today, I got the great fortune of performing Puja-Archana after bathing in the holy Sangam at Prayagraj maha Kumbh. I got immense peace and satisfaction from the blessings of Maa Ganga. I prayed to her for the happiness, prosperity, health and well-being of all the countrymen. Har-Har Gange!” PM Modi posted on X.

Prior to this, PM Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath traveled by boat to Triveni Sangam, which is the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the fabled Saraswati.
 
Beginning on Paush Purnima (January 13), the Mahakumbh is the biggest spiritual and cultural event in the world, drawing followers from all over the world. It will go on till february 26th, Mahashivratri.

The prime minister launched 167 development projects totaling ₹5,500 crore during his december 13 visit to Prayagraj, enhancing public facilities, connectivity, and services.
 

The Uttar Pradesh government, which is organizing the mega fair, claims that the maha Kumbh, which is being hosted after a 12-year break, has attracted over 38 crore pilgrims from all across india and the world to date.
 
Bhutan's king Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk took part in a number of important spiritual events on tuesday while in Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh-2025.
