According to the eport, Harvinder Singh, a resident of the Hoshiarpur district of punjab, said that he was handcuffed for 40 hours and his legs were tied with chains, due to which he was not able to move even an inch from his seat. Regarding this, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi targeted the Modi government at the Center. Rahul gandhi shared Harvinder Singh's video on X, in which he mentioned his troubles. The congress MP said, "Prime minister, listen to this man's pain, Indians deserve respect and humanity, not handcuffs."
'I couldn't eat properly for 40 hours'
Describing the journey from America to india as worse than hell, Harvinder said that he could not even eat properly for 40 hours. He said, "We requested the security personnel to remove the handcuffs for a few minutes, but no one listened." Regarding this matter, Foreign minister S jaishankar presented the government's side in both houses of Parliament.
On the questions raised by the opposition MPs, Foreign minister S jaishankar said that we were aware of the deportation of 104 Indians. We have instructed the authorities to sit and talk to each returnee about how they went to America. If a citizen is found living abroad illegally, it is the responsibility of all countries to call him back. We are in talks with the US government to ensure that there is no mistreatment of the returning deportees.
