Users share experiences on recent scam
Zee news cited a Reddit user who had a similar incident: "My girlfriend received a call this afternoon from someone claiming to be from swiggy and to have a delivery in my name. He requested that the door be opened. One person commented on this thread, saying, "Don't worry, this is a frequent fraud approach. I've come across a lot of scam stories. Your girlfriend will have paid for the package, which will be sent in cash on delivery (COD). It will include either an empty box or inexpensive food items.

"Gated society does not mean that the security is completely strong," a person commented on the bogus post. There could be a security breach. This man could be following your girlfriend. He had the opportunity to fulfill an order sooner, but instead, he pursued her using your number after receiving confirmation from the app. I advise you to have security verify this number and see if he has previously delivered to your home. After that, you can file a complaint with both the service provider and the police.

Why the recent scam is dangerous?
This risky circumstance draws attention to the continuous development of novel fraud strategies that many people might not be aware of. Verifying any calls or texts you get from unknown numbers is very important. It is best to check with the relevant service provider, especially when you receive delivery notices. Furthermore, adding doorbells or CCTV cameras to your house might improve security. Our knowledge and security measures must be improved to stop such fraudulent operations.
