Since the premiere of Marco in theaters last year, Unni Mukundan's fan following has grown. Nearly Rs. 100 crores were made throughout the film's successful run. In a recent interview, unni mukundan stated that he is not eager to pursue the road of Pan-Indian filmmaking just yet, even if the Hindi-dubbed version of the movie also made Rs. 20 crores in the North indian market. In these situations, he expressly voiced his misgivings about a film's success.

According to Unni, the filmmakers would choose profit above substance if mollywood began releasing Pan-Indian films, which is why malayalam films are so popular worldwide. According to him, a film's success is greatly influenced by its storyline and artistic quality. In order to outperform other films, he also outlined several strategies that malayalam cinema could employ. He said he would want to produce movies the way he wants to, without sacrificing anything.

Marco, directed by Unni Mukundan, became known as one of the bloodiest movies ever produced in malayalam cinema history. The single-screen crowd adored it, and because of the film's violent content, there have been tales of individuals throwing up in theaters. Even though some people were upset that Marco glorified violence, he was able to make a good impact on everyone and pave the way for future productions of similar movies.
