The genuine story of a fisherman who gets lost at sea, is apprehended by Pakistani authorities, and finally returns to india is the basis for Thandel. But the pair, Raju (Naga Chaitanya) and Satya (Sai Pallavi), are at the center of the emotion. The movie looks at how their lives are affected by the maritime tragedy, how Satya's concerns are realized, and what happens to their romance in the end.

In the title character of Thandel Raju, naga chaitanya manages to pull off a bit of a surprise. First of all, he is matched with a talented and highly skilled performer like Sai Pallavi. However, Chaitanya's obvious visual improvement—which may be regarded as a jump in his performance, notably via his subtle acting—comes as a pleasant surprise. His acting is noticeably better than in his earlier movies. He owned Raju flawlessly, as shown by the fact that it never feels forced or overdone. All things considered, this movie will undoubtedly enhance his acting. His performance will surely advance his career regardless of how remarkable the entire movie is.

The part of satya is played by Sai Pallavi, who obviously has no trouble with it. Nothing here is very difficult for her. She does what is expected of her, but the acting and character design are cliched because we've seen her do this before, and it's not her finest. She does not, however, allow for grievances.
