Historic Look at the bjp Leadership in Delhi..!?

With the bjp seizing power in the national capital delhi after 27 years, the only choice left was to choose a CM. The saffron party, which lost power to the congress in 1998, has now defeated the party born after it, the aam aadmi party (AAP), and has come to power. According to the States Reorganization Act, which came into force on november 1, 1956, delhi lost its state status and became a Union Territory (UT). The assembly was reconstituted again in 1991. The bjp won the first elections held in 1993.
In 1993, when the bjp won 49 seats and came to power, senior bjp leader Madan Lal Khurana became the Chief Minister. He was the one who laid the foundation of the bjp in Delhi. He remained in the post of cm till 1996. However, after that, Saheb Singh Verma was made CM. He worked as the minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the Vajpayee government. He resigned in 1999 after disagreeing with the party's high command over the strong implementation of Hindutva. Khurana served as the governor of rajasthan for a while in 2004. In 2005, he was expelled for criticizing the leadership of top leader Advani. The party reinstated him shortly after. He was expelled from the primary membership of the bjp in 2006 as well. He died in 2018. After removing Khurana as cm, Saheb Singh Verma was made cm between february 1996 and october 1998. He was born in 1943 in a Lakra Jat family in Delhi. He was attracted to arya Samaj from childhood. After completing his PhD in Library Science, he started his career as a librarian at Bhagat Singh college in Delhi. In 1998, the price of onions increased drastically, which brought trouble to Saheb's government. Due to this, he was removed and the then-young leader sushma swaraj was made CM. Saheb Singh won as an mp from Outer delhi in 1999 and served as a Union minister in the Vajpayee government. Saheb Singh Verma, who worked as an All india Jat leader, died in a road accident in rajasthan in 2007.
