Due to the current maha Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj's traffic system has entirely disintegrated, causing pilgrims to struggle in lengthy traffic jams across the city and the fair region. people are unable to move freely, and thousands of cars are stranded for hours.

By sunday, february 9, more than 41.14 crore individuals have taken a sacred plunge at the Triveni Sangam, according to the maha Kumbh management. 1.42 crore individuals took the plunge on sunday alone. The government finds it challenging to maintain control of the situation as the throng keeps growing.

Despite the deployment of paramilitary personnel in many areas, the influx of devotees continues to be uncontrolled. Although security officers are in charge of the majority of the city's flyovers, cars are not moving an inch in numerous areas.

Devotees stuck for hours in jams
Traffic congestion in and around the maha Kumbh region has been a serious problem for thousands of attendees.

It took Samarjit Shakya, who traveled from Etawah with his family, seven hours to go from the city boundaries to the maha Kumbh region. He has spent hours attempting to go home but has been trapped in Prayagraj.

Numerous other devotees are dealing with the same issue, and the police officers stationed at crossroads are not helping them enough. The issue is made worse by the closure of several pontoon bridges in the fair area, which limits people's freedom of movement.

Poor traffic management leaves devotees helpless
Since the highways going to Prayagraj from all directions are fully congested, many are starting to doubt the maha Kumbh administration's traffic plan.

From Kanpur: The kaushambi district is where the traffic bottleneck begins, and cars are traveling at a very sluggish pace.
From Varanasi: Before you even get to the parking lots outside the city, there is a lengthy traffic bottleneck.
Vehicles are being stopped 20 kilometers before they reach the maha Kumbh region from Lucknow. people must travel great distances to go to the sacred location, even if they are able to park their automobiles.
From Rewa: This road has the worst traffic, with a 35-kilometer traffic standstill before the city.
