On social media, a university announcement about a menu change from sunday has gone viral. The notification stated that owing to popular demand, the sunday lunch menu will now feature beef biryani in place of chicken biryani. The purported notification also expressed the hope that the new menu will be well received by university inhabitants.
The warning appears to be regarding the meal menu at aligarh Muslim University's Suleman Hall mess. The Senior Food Dining Hall's Mujassim ahmed Bhati and Muhammad Faizullah are named on the notification.
The announcement reads, "Due to popular demand, the lunch menu for this sunday has been changed. We will be providing beef biryani instead of chicken biryani. Numerous requests from our resident members have led to this modification. We sincerely hope you like the new menu item.
Aligarh Police acknowledged the viral news and stated that they are responding to it by the law.
Notably, aligarh Muslim university offers three meals a day to its inhabitants in its 20 dorms for both male and female students.
In the meantime, professor Muhammad Wasim Ali, a proctor at AMU, informed etv Bharat that it was a typo. When discussing the change to the menu from chicken biryani, they apparently typed beef biryani rather than chicken biryani.
Although AMU is offering its inhabitants beef biryani, it is crucial to remember that the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of cow slaughter Act, 1955, forbids the killing, selling, and transportation of cows and makes it illegal to physically harm cows or their offspring.
In the state, killing cows is now punished by up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to Rs five lakh.
