The number of congress seats has remained the same for the third straight year despite delhi residents rejecting the aam aadmi party (AAP) and the bharatiya janata party (BJP). The congress has once again failed to win any seats in delhi, even though they now possess 70 assembly seats.

Delhi is not the only location, though, where the congress lacks representation. At least four other states, including important ones like andhra pradesh and West bengal, have no congress MLAs.

Andhra Pradesh assembly has 175 seats, congress has zero
In the May 2024 elections, the congress won 0 seats in the 175-seat andhra pradesh Assembly. Despite putting in their best effort, the party was unable to secure a single seat, with the majority of candidates either losing their deposits or placing third.

The opposition ysr currently has 11 MLAs, whereas the nda alliance has 164. It's interesting to note that the Congress-ruled andhra pradesh till 2014.

Congress is also at zero in the West bengal Assembly
Following the May 2021 elections, the congress party in West bengal was likewise unable to secure any members in the assembly, which has 294 seats. Despite running with the Left Front, the party was unable to win. The congress has lost all of its seats in bengal for the first time. With 224 MLAs, the trinamool congress is the largest party in the state, followed by the bjp with 66. The mla eventually moved to Trinamool, despite congress winning the Sagardighi seat in Murshidabad in 2022. Since then, the congress has lost every bengali by-election that has been held.

32 sikkim seats, all of which have nda

With 32 seats, Sikkim's congress is also unrepresented. The party used to have a lot of seats here, but today it has none. The sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), which is allied with the bjp, controls all 32 seats.

Congress has no hands in Nagaland either.

In the february 2023 elections, congress was likewise unable to secure any seats in Nagaland, which has 60 assembly seats. The bjp has 12 MLAs, the NDPP has 25, and the remaining seats are held by minor parties. It's interesting to note that Nagaland has no opposition and all parties are members of the administration.

Three states in the northeast each have one seat.

Congress only has one member each in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Mizoram, the three northeastern states. Likewise, the party has two Manipur and puducherry MLAs apiece. The congress has a strong influence in Manipur and was most recently in power in Puducherry.
