After the High Court's stay order expired, the Uttar Pradesh government began demolishing Madni Masjid in Hata nagar on Sunday, february 9. Under the watchful eye of a sizable police force, which included DSP Kasya Kundan Singh and BSF soldiers, the mosque was destroyed using multiple bulldozers.

When local authorities and a police team visited Madni Masjid on december 19, 2024, to look into claims of land infringement, the conflict started. According to the study, the Muslim community purchased a 32-decimal lot 15 years ago, but they extended their land by building a mosque on 30 decimals.

In addition to its original 30 decimals, the mosque occupied 4 decimals of nagar Palika property and 1 decimal of public land, according to the investigative reports.

Following the survey, representatives of the mosque received formal letters from the district administration requesting the necessary records and maps attesting to the mosque's construction. The notifications warned that failing to submit the documents might lead to legal action and included a 15-day window for responses.

However, the authorities moved forward with the destruction since the representative body did not respond with the required documentation requirements within the allotted time.

After the stay time expired, the authorities verified that their activities were in accordance with the law, notwithstanding the mosque representatives' lack of compliance.

For more than 20 years, the Madni mosque has served as a major Islamic educational facility and a Tablighi Jamaat zonal headquarters in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
