Palani Murugan Temple's Thaipusam Festival!
As the yearly Thaipusam holiday progresses, palani Murugan temple, one of tamil Nadu's most venerated religious locations, is becoming the scene of lavish festivities. The much-anticipated Thirukalyanam ritual at the palani Periyanayaki Amman Temple today marks the continuation of the celebrations, which started on february 5 with the annual flag raising. Between 7 and 8:30 p.m., Muthukumara Swamy will marry Valli and Deivanai in a heavenly ceremony. At 9 p.m., there will be a magnificent silver chariot parade on the temple's chariot routes.
Devotees watched Muthukumara Swamy's procession in a silver elephant chariot yesterday, and the deity will depart in a golden palanquin at 9:15 AM today. The holy water giving at Shanmukhanadi tomorrow will continue the spiritual intensity, and at 11:15 AM, the deity will climb the Thaipusam chariot for a magnificent chariot parade at 4:45 PM. The flag-lowering ceremony will mark the end of the festivities on february 14, the day of the festival's culminating highlight, Theppathiruvizha (float festival).
The wait time for darshan has surpassed five hours due to the throngs of devotees that have crowded the temple town. A strong police force of 3,000 officers has been sent in to provide security, and CCTV cameras are stationed to keep a careful eye on important areas including the bus stop, Girivalapada, and the temple base. In order to alleviate traffic congestion, temporary parking facilities have also been set up at 12 places.
Pilgrims from all across the nation come to palani to witness the holy splendor of the Thaipusam festival, which remains a symbol of dedication, discipline, and celebration.
