Since the state government permitted telangana Beverages Corporation Limited (TGBCL) to execute the Price-Fixing Committee's (PFC) recommendations, beer prices have been adjusted by 15%.
 
Principal Secretary to government SAM Rizvi issued the PFC implementation orders on Monday, and they will take effect on Tuesday, february 11. Stock held at IMFL depots, including stock in transit that will be sold at the updated MRP rates, will be subject to the amended pricing.

The United Breweries organization halts the delivery of beer:
 
Following a suspension of beer supplies to TGBCL and a request for a price increase, United Breweries, the producers of Kingfisher and Heineken Beer, raised beer prices. Due to significant losses, UBL stopped the delivery on january 8 since the beer's basic price had not been changed since 2019–20.
 
On january 20, the business started supplying beer again after TGBCL promised to promptly resolve price concerns and unpaid invoices. In a statement released on january 20, they stated, "We have decided to restart our supplies for the time being until we get more information, basis assurances."
 
United Breweries Limited was acquired by Heineken NV, the second-largest beer manufacturer in the world, in 2021.
 
CM's pledge to refrain from raising prices:
 
Telangana chief minister Revanth reddy pledged not to give in to pressure from liquor businesses to raise prices shortly after the company halted the delivery of beer. The cm requested that officials send out a fresh notice with a one-month deadline for new company applications.
 
He said that the PFC report, which is led by a former high court judge, will be the basis for the decision to raise rates. The commission was established in July 2024 to examine the methods used to determine the pricing of liquor and beer.
 
The cm also directed the finance department on january 12 to pay outstanding invoices to liquor makers via the excise department.
 
The state's wholesale and retail alcohol sales are monopolized by TGBCL, a publicly traded corporation that regulates alcohol sales in the state.
