In addition to its original concept, the english comedy series The Flatshare, which is available on jio Cinema, has drawn notice for its striking similarity to a telugu hit from 2002. As they negotiate their lives and relationships, the show follows two strangers who live together in an apartment on a time-split schedule. They never meet in person but only communicate via post-it notes.

Fans of telugu film would immediately be reminded of Vamsy's Aunu Valliddaru Ishta Paddaru by this. The movie, which took home several accolades, including the andhra pradesh State Nandi Award, centers on Anil (played by ravi Teja) and Swathi (played by Kaveri), who share a home but don't interfere with one another's personal life.

Through letter exchanges, what begins as a pragmatic arrangement quickly develops into a touching romance. chakri wrote the soundtrack for the movie, which is now regarded as a masterpiece. The resemblances have been acknowledged. Fans are playfully questioning, "So, hollywood has started remaking telugu movies now?" on social media. Even if the similarity may just be coincidence, it's entertaining to watch how a contemporary worldwide series and a telugu movie from 20 years ago have such a very similar theme!
