South megastar chiranjeevi is under criticism for his "sexist" remarks made while serving as the main guest at the Brahma anandam pre-release event. The actor stated during the ceremony that he hopes a grandson would continue his legacy. He added that because he is surrounded by grandchildren, he feels as though he is at a "ladies' hostel" at home.
 
He said, "When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around. I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye... I'm scared that he might again have a girl."

"Chiranjeevi is afraid his son ram charan might have another daughter," an X user remarked after sharing a video from the occasion. The fixation on a male heir persists in 2025. Not surprising, but disappointing. PS: I have a daughter, and hundreds of people have told me that I should have a male next. people wanting us to control things I can't (sic) makes me feel awful.

Sushmita konidela and sreeja konidela are Chiranjeevi's two daughters. Sushmita is fortunate to have two children, Samara and Samhitha, whereas sreeja is the mother of two girls, Navishka and Nivrati.
