Jammu-Kashmir: Two army soldiers were martyred in an IED blast in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu. The explosion happened during patrolling near the India-Pakistan LoC. After this incident, mourning spread in the village of the martyred soldiers.

Captain Karamjit Singh and Naik mukesh, who were martyred in this blast, were to get married on the same day, 18 april 2025. Captain Karamjit Singh's marriage was scheduled in the Sainik Colony of Jammu while Mukesh Singh's marriage was scheduled in RS Pura sector of Jammu. There was an atmosphere of happiness in Naik mukesh Singh's native village Bari Kamila regarding his marriage. Another house was built near his house, where his marriage rituals were to be held.
