U.S. President donald trump announced the beginning of peace talks in the region on wednesday during separate calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, fulfilling his campaign pledge to end the war in ukraine quickly.
 
Munich is set to host the first round of peace negotiations on Friday. The American delegation will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. Representatives from both russia and ukraine are anticipated to participate, however official confirmation of their presence is still pending.
 

'Highly' Productive Call With Putin
On his Truth Social platform, President trump detailed his talk with Putin, calling it "lengthy and highly productive." trump claims that the two leaders discussed a range of topics, such as the global economy, energy, artificial intelligence, and the crisis in Ukraine.
 
"I spoke with President Vladimir Putin for a long time. Among the numerous things we talked about was the want for peace in Ukraine. "We both want to see an end to the needless loss of lives," trump stated, adding that they had decided to start peace talks right once.
 
During their conversation, Putin allegedly repeated Trump's 'Common Sense' campaign slogan, indicating a mutual conviction in workable ways to bring about peace.


Conversation with Zelenskyy
Trump called with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy after he chatted with Putin, and Zelenskyy likewise conveyed a strong wish for peace. trump said that the planned Munich discussions were the main topic of their conversation.
