As a rebel, Vishwak Sen made a name for himself in telugu cinema with films such as Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and Falaknuma Das. He was an actor and filmmaker who was keen to create his own cult rather than follow business conventions, which appeared like a breath of new air at a time when tollywood was mired in a commercial rut.

His recent movie selections, however, imply that he has also succumbed to the mainstream commercial film industry, disappointing his cult followers. The majority of Gaami's recent films have tended toward formulaic storytelling, albeit he was an exception. He has been unable to produce a powerful, undeniable hit at the box office in spite of his relentless advertising and strong social media presence.

Many of Vishwak's films get decent buzz when they first come out, but they don't hold up over the weekend. Despite receiving favorable reviews, films like Ashoka Vanamlo arjuna Kalyanam and Ori Devuda were unable to maintain their run in cinemas. Despite having strong starts, Das Ka Dhamki gradually faded away. Despite Gaami's comparatively strong performance, Gangs of Godavari was a letdown. But Mechanic Rocky, his most recent film, was a disaster. Thus, gradually, it is also becoming unclear what the minimum weekend run will be.

Laila, which will be released in four days, is currently the center of attention. Vishwak has worked really hard and is trying a feminine getup for the first time. Whether audiences will accept this experiment is still up in the air. megastar Chiranjeevi's attendance at the pre-release event increased the anticipation surrounding the movie, although more people spoke about his political background than the movie itself after his address.

Similarly, rather than Laila, actress prudhvi Raj's remarks sparked discussions about the YSRCP. It remains to be seen if this unintentional attention will result in high box office receipts in any region. Vishwak Sen is deserving of more success than he has recently received.
