In a significant crackdown on food safety violations, the Food Safety Department, in collaboration with the Task Force, seized a staggering 600 kg of rotten chicken meat from various chicken centers in Secunderabad’s Rasoolpura area. The meat, which had been stored for nearly two to three months in unhygienic conditions, was being supplied to local wine shops and bars in Anna Nagar.

The raid, conducted on Thursday, february 13, exposed the alarming malpractice of selling spoiled meat to unsuspecting consumers, posing a severe health hazard. Authorities took swift action following numerous complaints from local residents, who had raised concerns over the quality of chicken being distributed in the area.

According to secunderabad Cantonment sanitation superintendent Devender and Task Force SI Gagandeep, the owners of SSS and ravi chicken Centres were deliberately engaging in this illicit trade to maximize their profits. By purchasing and storing chicken meat beyond its safe consumption period, they were able to sell it at extremely low rates to businesses that prioritized cost over quality.

This unethical practice not only endangered public health but also highlighted the need for stricter enforcement of food safety regulations. Officials confirmed that the seized meat was in a decayed state, emitting a foul smell, and was completely unfit for consumption. Further legal action against the culprits is currently being pursued to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
