Hotstar has become JioHotstar..!! New premium has arrived..!!

JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar have joined forces to launch a new platform called JioHotstar on february 14. With the merger of reliance Industries and Walt Disney India, the streaming services of the two empires were merged. While JioCinema was already facing many problems, mukesh ambani closed it and took over Hotstar. Now both of them have merged to form JioHotstar. Through this, all the content available on both platforms will be provided to the customers in one place. In this, an important update has been released mainly regarding the IPL matches.
With the launch of JioHotstar, it has also introduced a new subscription model. Existing Disney+ Hotstar subscribers can continue to use it without any disruption or the current pricing structure. In the new subscription model, the fee is fixed at Rs. 149 for the mobile version, Rs. 299 for the "Super" plan, and Rs. 349 for the ad-free "Premium" plan for a period of three months. Similarly, JioCinema Premium users will be automatically upgraded to JioHotstar Premium for the remaining period of their current subscription period. According to a Reuters report, fans will no longer be able to watch IPL matches without a subscription but will be allowed to log in and watch only a few minutes of the matches starting. JioCinema has been streaming the IPL for free since 2023. But from 2025, fans will have to pay a subscription to watch the entire match. Apart from this, JioHotstar has now added various content including movies and series from major hollywood studios like NBC Universal Peacock, Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO, and Paramount, all of which were previously available on the jio Cinema platform. Also, in the sports section, major cricket tournaments like IPL, WPL, and ICC, and international sports events like Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi, and ISL will also be streamed.
