Assam: cm Sarma's allegation - Elizabeth Gogoi visited pakistan even after marriage; SIT will investigate

Assam: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the formation of an SIT to investigate the visit of congress mp Gaurav Gogoi's wife Elizabeth to Pakistan and her alleged links with the ISI. He said that the matter would be investigated in detail.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reacted to the allegations of congress mp Gaurav Gogoi's wife Elizabeth Gogoi's links with the ISI. He said, 'It is known that she traveled to pakistan even after her marriage.' Sarma said that a decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be taken in the state government's cabinet meeting.

He said that a regular case would be registered to investigate the passport and visa of the alleged person and the entire ecosystem including sympathizers would be investigated. He said we have known that Elizabeth (Congress mp Gaurav Gogoi's wife) has gone to pakistan even after her marriage. Whether she went with the mp or alone, these things will be confirmed. Much information is coming out.

He said, tomorrow the Assam Cabinet is going to meet and probably in that meeting we will decide to form an SIT because until a regular case is registered, the passport and visa of the person allegedly involved cannot be investigated. Sarma said we will also investigate the entire ecosystem including sympathizers. We are going to conduct a detailed investigation.

He said that it also needs to be investigated whether the ISI had attempted to infiltrate the Chief Minister's office of assam during that period. This is also yet to be investigated. Himanta Biswa Sarma and gaurav gogoi are engaged in a war of words over Elizabeth's alleged links with the Pakistani agency.

Sarma had said on Friday that he wants an explanation from Gogoi, the Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The chief minister had asked reporters, how ISI and R&W live together in the same house. We are not accusing anyonebut we want the facts to come out. I have some questions. First, is it true or false that the MP's wife worked in Pakistan? Second, has he taken indian citizenship or not? Third, if the mp went to pakistan during this period and met the Pakistani ambassador, did he get permission from the Ministry of External Affairs or not? How can ISI and R&W live in the same house? ISI is Pakistan and R&W is India, they can't live together.

The congress mp has come to the center of controversy after a section of bjp workers and leaders questioned the 'foreign citizenship' of Gaurav Gogoi's wife and accused him of having links with the ISI. They also questioned Gogoi's meeting with the then-Pakistan High Commissioner to india ten years ago in 2015.
