Congress raised a volley of questions on NDLS stampede...
After 18 deaths in the stampede at New delhi Railway Station on saturday night, the congress party is continuing to attack the Modi government. From rahul and priyanka gandhi to mallikarjun Kharge and KC Venugopal, everyone has accused the central government of mismanagement and negligence in this matter. Congress leaders have also asked many questions to the Modi government in this matter. These include the question of giving the correct death figures.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has expressed grief over this accident and wrote, 'The stampede incident at New delhi Railway Station is shocking and extremely sad. The pictures that have come out are frightening. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the innocent victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The occurrence of such a disaster in the national capital under the direct supervision of the central government shows that the government is only capable of doing public relations, it has completely failed in actual management.'
Venugopal then asked, 'When will we know the exact figures of the dead and injured? Why were measures not taken to control the crowd? When it was known that there would be so much crowd during the maha Kumbh, why did the railways not run special trains?'
Congress spokesperson also fired questions
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said in a video post on social media, 'Last night again there was a stampede. Again helpless devotees died. This happened at the New delhi Railway Station of the country's capital. The government is never concerned about how to stop these deaths. The government is always worried about how to stop the news of these deaths.' Pawan Khera said, 'Operation Lipa Poti was carried out after the stampede. Why was a toll free phone number not issued so that people can get information about their missing relatives? He also said that the CCTV footage of the platforms where the incident took place should be made public so that accountability can be ensured from the events before and after the stampede.
