Viral on the internet is an odd advertisement advertising a 'Dip From Home' service for the maha Kumbh mela 2025. According to the advertisement, devotees may avoid the congested metropolis of Prayagraj by taking a sacred plunge in the Triveni Sangam. No, you won't receive the holy water of Sangam at your door.

Kumbh mela 'Dip from home'

According to the ad, folks may sit comfortably at home and get the benefits of the holy Sangam.

The viral advertisement claims that the service costs Rs. 500. To participate in this offering, devotees must transmit a picture of themselves via WhatsApp. After that, a photocopy of their image would be submerged in the Triveni Sangam's sacred waters.

The billboard called this maha Kumbh the "last chance" for followers to participate in the sacred rite, emphasizing that it is a unique event that only happens once every 144 years. It urged people to take advantage of the chance.

The veracity of this assertion is still debatable, though.

Netizens Amused
The novel idea has garnered a lot of interest on social media in spite of skepticism.

People are split on the unorthodox idea. Others questioned its legality and religious importance, while others thought it was funny. While some social media users ridiculed the concept and compared it to "work from home" culture, others questioned if dipping a snapshot could actually replace in-person visits.

At the maha Kumbh mela, millions of people congregate to plunge in the holy Sangam, which they believe atones for their sins.
