A video of Karachi's National Stadium with the flags of competing nations attending the ICC Champion's Trophy 2025, which pakistan is hosting starting on february 19, went viral on social media. According to the video, the indian flag was allegedly not raised at the stadium, igniting a contentious debate and condemning the pakistan cricket Board (PCB) for expressing its ire at india for declining to host Champions Trophy matches in the nation.

The PCB has played down the controversy by claiming that only the flags of the nations competing in pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 have been flown at the stadiums, despite social media being ablaze with supporters condemning pakistan for refusing to fly the indian flag at its stadiums.

"As you know, india is not coming to pakistan to play its matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025; the National Stadium in Karachi, Rawalpindi cricket Stadium, and the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore have hoisted flags of countries that are going to play at the said venues," a source from the PCB told IANS.

The insider said, "The indian team is going to play its matches in dubai," when questioned why the flags of bangladesh, india, and other participating nations were absent from the stadiums in Karachi and Lahore. Second, the squad from bangladesh has not yet reached pakistan and will play its first game in dubai against India. As a result, their flags have not been raised, whereas the flags of the other countries that have come to play in pakistan are shown at the stadium."
