According to sources who spoke to india Today TV, the central government would deploy artificial intelligence (AI) for crowd and crisis management and construct permanent holding zones to manage the additional passenger rush at 60 busy train stations. This comes after a sudden surge of maha Kumbh pilgrims boarding trains headed for Prayagraj caused a stampede at the New delhi railway station that claimed 18 lives.

According to reports, crisis management and situational awareness training would be provided to local officials. They stated that arrows and dividers would be made to help people find their way to the assigned holding places.

According to sources, crowd movement would be tracked using technology, including artificial intelligence, particularly during train delays. According to them, the central war room would keep an eye on up to 35 stations that are connected to Prayagraj.

According to reports, 200 CCTVs have been installed at the New delhi train station alone, and cameras will keep an eye on pedestrians sitting on foot over bridges and stair landing areas as part of crowd management efforts.

According to reports, up to 90% of devotees traveling to the maha Kumbh come from a 300-kilometer radius in four states, necessitating special surveillance at busy stations.

According to them, the Railways will launch a specific campaign to pinpoint the issues surrounding congestion and solicit input from coolies, passengers, and store owners.

NEW delhi STATION STAMPEDE
A wave of people, bewildered by a mix-up in train announcements, surged towards platform 16 via a small stairwell at the New delhi railway station at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, causing the stampede.

The throng became a human bottleneck, with those trying to descend and others trying to move up trapped between them. Within minutes, there was a terrible crush as fear spread and people started to tumble.

According to certain accounts, a chaotic scenario could have been caused by train departure delays and the railway station's hourly sales of more than 1,500 general tickets.

The Railway Ministry has established a high-level committee to look into the incident. While others are conducting inquiries, the committee, which consists of two top administrative group officials, has started looking at CCTV video and other documents. It is anticipated that the report will be submitted shortly.

The Railways has promised Rs 1 lakh for minor injuries, Rs 2.5 lakh for major injuries, and Rs 10 lakh for the relatives of the deceased.

Following the rush, platform tickets will not be available for purchase at the New delhi station until february 26, the day the maha Kumbh concludes. On the other hand, automated vending machines at the station are selling platform tickets.

According to Northern Railways, platform number 16 would be the starting point for all special trains heading for Prayagraj. The Ajmeri Gate side of the station is where all travelers wishing to travel to Prayagraj will enter and exit.
