One of the three executive orders that US President donald trump signed on tuesday aims to lower the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF) nationwide. The action comes after he promised during the campaign that the government or insurance companies would pay for IVF procedures if he were re-elected.

While confirming the signing, white house Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, "The order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments." The government aims to reduce the financial burden on infertile couples while increasing access to reproductive treatments.

Additionally, trump reiterated his intention to apply tariffs to imported automobiles, establishing a rate of about 25%. "I'll probably tell you that on april 2, but it'll be in the neighborhood of 25%," he told reporters at his Palm beach Mar-a-Lago Club.

Trump had previously stated last week that these tariffs would go into force as early as april 2, the day after his cabinet is scheduled to provide papers detailing possible import taxes. The action is a component of his larger plan to encourage home production and change international trade regulations.

Trump also discussed the current conflict between russia and ukraine during the news conference, saying he was confident of a possible peace agreement while downplaying Ukraine's annoyance at being excluded from recent US-Russian negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
