In response to opposition parties' negative remarks about the maha Kumbh, Uttar Pradesh chief minister yogi adityanath blasted them on Wednesday, stating that their attempts "to malign the event with false narratives and disrespect Sanatan dharma will not be tolerated." Adityanath denied that fecal pollution had made the river water unsafe for bathing in several Prayagraj locales, adding that Sangam water was suitable for drinking and dipping.

The chief minister stated in a speech to the state assembly that the CPCB and the UP pollution Control Board were constantly checking the water quality at the Sangam. He said that the water at the Sangam, which is the holy meeting point of the Yamuna, ganga, and the fabled Saraswati, was "fit for drinking." Adityanath criticized the previous Samajwadi party administration, pointing out that the ganga and yamuna rivers were in such bad shape while they were in power that the prime minister of mauritius refused to take a dip in the 2013 Kumbh.
However, netizens on social media platforms claimed that if the water is pure, yogi adityanath and entire bjp MPs should drink the same water every day and expose the report. Will They? Or is it just the common people who should suffer the lies? Only time has to tell.
