Six persons have been arrested by Bengaluru City police for allegedly honey-trapping and robbing a tamil Nadu man of gold jewelry worth Rs 2.3 lakh. The incident came to light after the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, filed a complaint with the SG Palya police.
According to the victim, he was lured by Rekha, who accompanied him in an autorickshaw to a hotel. After paying the autorickshaw driver Rs 900, the victim alleged that three other men intercepted them a few meters ahead. The gang allegedly robbed him of a 15-gram gold chain, a 19-gram gold bracelet, and two mobile phones (an Oppo and a Vivo), as per a report on Deccan Herald.

The accused were identified as Suhail Khan, Wahid Ahmed, Syed Shamaluddin, Rekha, Mohammed Irfan, and salman khan, as per a report on indian Express. While Irfan and Shamaluddin are from Mysuru, the others are residents of Bengaluru.
During the investigation, the police recovered 30 grams of gold from a jeweler in Mysuru, to whom the stolen items had been sold. Additionally, an autorickshaw and two two-wheelers, collectively valued at Rs 5 lakh, were impounded, reported The Hindu.
The modus operandi of the gang involved using a woman to lure unsuspecting victims, who her accomplices then robbed.
The Bengaluru police have assured that further investigation is underway to determine if the accused are involved in similar crimes in the region. Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such incidents in the future.
