India beat bangladesh in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Shubman Gill scored a century to lead the team to victory, while mohammed shami took five wickets. Shubman Gill finished unbeaten on 101 off 129 balls as he curbed his natural instincts, dug in, and played through India's chase in their opening match of the 2025 Champions Trophy against bangladesh in Dubai. The indian players had to work hard to score runs on a slow track in the second innings in Dubai. The likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar patel were unimpressive with the bat and failed to read the wicket properly. However, Gill held firm till the end and relied on singles and doubles while chasing 229 runs.
Earlier, bangladesh was bowled out for 228 in 49.2 overs, with mohammed shami taking five wickets. Towhid Hridoy's 100 off 118 balls and Zakir Ali's 68 off 114 balls took the Tigers past 200. The indian bowlers bowled out the remaining batsmen with ease. Harshit Rana, playing his first match in an ICC event, dismissed three batsmen. india will now face pakistan at the dubai International cricket Stadium on february 23.
