This week, an old woman from the Ramgarh area of jharkhand was rescued after she became trapped in her own house. After locking the widow inside the house, her son went to Prayagraj to attend the maha Kumbh mela with his wife and kids.

The old woman lived on water and rice for three days. The neighbors were shocked by what they saw when they smashed down the door after hearing her cries of hunger and pain. The woman was trying to eat plastic to stay alive since she was starving and weak. She was given meals by the neighbors right away.

Before departing with his family on monday for the Kumbh mela, the woman's son, Akhilesh Prajapati, had locked his 65-year-old mother, Sanju Devi, inside their house. By Wednesday, Sanju Devi was yelling in anguish and in dire need of assistance. When the neighbors heard her sobs, they pried open the door and told her daughter chandni Devi.

She was taken to a hospital for medical attention when chandni Devi and her maternal uncle Mansa Mahato hurried to the spot and informed the local police.

Akhilesh Prajapati justified his conduct when the police called the son, saying that he and his family had left the residence at 11 a.m. on monday after giving their mother food, including rice and other necessities. His mother, he said, had urged them to go to the Kumbh Mela. He said that the family had not brought her along because she was ill.

According to Inspector krishna Kumar of the Ramgarh police station, they were informed that the old mother was trapped in her home while her children, son, and daughter-in-law were in Prayagraj. If a formal complaint is submitted, Inspector Kumar said, legal action would be taken.

Ajay Kumar, the superintendent of police (SP) for Ramgarh, denounced the behavior as "completely inhumane" and promised to take the appropriate measures in response to a complaint.

Chandni Devi, Sanju Devi's daughter, has stated that she would like to take care of her mother. She said that rather than keeping their mother inside the home before leaving for the Kumbh mela, her brother might have left her with her.
